#TeacherProud Tuesday

This is our last #TeacherProud Tuesday for this school year. We will start again next school year in September.

For this month’s #TeacherProud Tuesday we are spotlighting these members:

Caruthersville School District 18

Spotlight

Our May Teacher of the Month is our music teacher, Holly Jayroe. She is from Dyersburg, Tennessee, and is married to her high school sweetheart, Andy. They have one son, Sam who is a golden honor roll student and about to graduate from Dyersburg High School in a few days!

Mrs. Jayroe always wanted to be a teacher, but decided to focus on music education while at Dyersburg State Community College. She went all the way across the state of Tennessee to earn her vocal music education degree from East Tennessee State University.

Right after graduation from ETSU twenty-one years ago, Mrs. Jayroe was hired to teach music at our school. She and her sisters used to put on programs for their parents, and now she gets to do that for her job! Every year, every student (Kindergarten through 5th grade) performs a grade level music program with a certain theme. The elementary choir is a group of 4th and 5th graders who perform an extra program at the end of each semester. So, we have EIGHT programs at our school every year which is just about one for every month we are in school!

Because she is the [self-proclaimed] #craftymusicteacherholly, she has picked up teaching a little art on the side too. In her spare time, she enjoys decorating for different holidays, going to see a live musical, spending time with her family, singing, crafting, and getting ready for her music programs, of course!

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left but could say I’ve used everything you gave me.” – Erma Bombeck

Nixa Public Schools

Nixa

Nixa Public Schools recognized their teacher of the year finalists and their 2024 Teacher of the Year, Stephanie Smith. On this #TeacherProud Tuesday we get to see just a glimpse of the amazing teachers at Nixa and why the district is a great place to work and why students in Nixa find success.

Reeds Spring School

Reeds Spring

Mrs. Amy Moler is the Reeds Spring School District's Teacher of the Year. She's a first-grade teacher at Reeds Spring Primary School. “Her ability to reach and inspire her students is nothing less than remarkable. Her caring and creative style is a true gift to education!”
